As FF2 Media’s Contributing Editor/Social Media Manager, I post daily on Twitter (@FF2_Media) and Facebook, not only to promote our reviews, interviews and feature stories, but also to connect with our audience and the filmmakers we support. Expanding our audience and finding people who are just as passionate about supporting women in film as we are has been the greatest part of growing our social media presence since September 2015.

I graduated Summa cum laude from Lewis University in June 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, emphasizing public relations, advertising and social media. After spending two years as a graphic designer for the student newspaper, I spent my senior year as Editor-in-Chief, managing a staff of 20 student reporters, editors and designers who collaborated to write 20 pages of biweekly news copy. The Flyer won the Associated Collegiate Press Association and American Scholastic Press Association General Excellence awards during my editorship. The college of communications also recognized my academic career with an Excellence in Leadership Award, the Senior Departmental Award for Public Relations and a spot on the Dean’s List.

FF2 Media is one of my biggest blessings because it allows me to combine many things I love: writing, watching films and supporting artists. Though my college curriculum and subsequent work as Editor-in-Chief of The Lewis Flyer honed my skills as a reporter and leader, FF2 Media has increased my knowledge and understanding of the impact of social media and online audiences. I’m thankful for the opportunity to see films I might not otherwise see, to enter worlds with which I’m unfamiliar, to escape into someone else’s story if only for a few hours. If I’m not seeing films for FF2, I’m probably watching The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, laughing at Chris D’elia’s standup, reading Meg Cabot and Nick Hornby novels or sitting behind the bullpen at a White Sox game.

Posts include: “Feminism is funny: Writing team inspires a generation with female-led comedies” as well as film reviews of: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, Obit, Everything, Everything and In Transit.
